Poetry in the Park – Downloadable
$10.00
To our parks is where we go to relax, unwind, and gather our thoughts. This is where we go when we need to get away with our family, kids, our just ourselves so we can unplug, frolic, and play. This is where we go to become a child again or deeply reflect. This collection is chock full of meaningful observations. You will learn about people after whom the parks were named, such as Ella Mae Logan, Sue Simpson, and Viola Thompson.
You will also learn of the racial divides that have taken place in our parks. As these poets and their poems do not look away; they tell the truth, shedding light on our collective history. Within this struggle, there is also beauty. Some of the poems are meditative and sonic in nature. What you will find is that nature has no agenda. It always beckons us to be, to reach our highest nature in nature. It calls to us as I hope these poems and photographs will do to you.
